How Do You Lean?

We all know that one dimension (Left v. Right) doesn't even come close to fully characterizing a person's views. 2-D is a nice improvement, although the best choice of axes is debatable. I found a quick online test that works to characterize people based on their economic and social views. Here's the result of my test:

I like this one. This has a nice diagram of the various viewpoints. You can see where you fall amongst famous people too. Like Darth Vader, Adam Sandler, Ghandi, or the Unabomber.
Steve & I were very close ideologically, despite our different registered political parties.

Check out this one too.
I think I have a 40% chance of dying of cancer at 80.

My graph looks exactly like yours! I guess you can't live with someone for 20 years without some stuff rubbing off.

Kim- I'm kinda worried I might fall right on top of the Unabomber. Seriously, he was a complete whacko sociopath, but I resonate with some of his notions! Maybe a hybrid of Ghandi and the Unabomber...

Mrs- you're so sweet!

choo choo- Glad to see that horrible commute hasn't changed you yet.

boots- No wonder everybody likes you!

I'll bet you can't guess where I ended up on the chart :-)

TNA is somewhere to the right of Thatcher, somewhere north of Friedman, right?

Mark, we are the same grid left to right, but I fell a bit more anarchistic. That would explain why I'm currently listen to the Dead Kennedys and the Clash on my iPod.

Druber,

BZZZZZZTTTTT!!!!! Wrong answer.

See, I'm actually about as south of the "Mason/Dixon" as Friedman...and just right of center. I'm basically just off of center in the Libertarian Right quadrant.

Who'd a thunk? :-)

Hybrid of Ghandi & Unabomber would give MLK. Not bad. I think Steve landed on Adam Sandler & I was on Donald Trump. I'm borderline Centrist/Capitalist.
At about (1,-3) on your graph.
I have the urge to make a graph with our pics on it (and famous cyclists), but that'll pass.

As a sometimes libertarian who thinks that the government should basically shut up and get out of the way, I've taken this test before. Given that it was designed by libertarians, I think that most people tend to fall in the bottom half of the graph just by virtue of how the questions are phrased. And for the record, my dot tends to fall right about where yours does!

TnA, you votin' for Ron Paul??
