Bad Timing to Ask for a Handout?

Today in sunny Southern California, I rode my bicycle in shorts and then later picked fresh, ripe strawberries from my garden. Meanwhile, it seems the rest of the US is in the grips of a brutally cold arctic blast. That's a shame. So I was wondering... how is the rest of the country going to respond to California's request for a 6.9 billion dollar handout from the Federal Government to help us with our budget crisis?

We shouldn't even be getting a Fed bailout! Maybe if the public employee unions cut their pension promises we could save this state from ruin!!

I'm surprised we only asked for 6.9 billion....

Haha... Weather Karma... now it seems that some extremely potent storms are knocking directly on California's door. Forecasts (all of them!) call for the biggest state-wide storm totals in decades.

In answer to your question...By backing up to the capitol steps with a few truckloads of January strawberries and handing out basketfuls to congress. That's how. ;o)

Lots of truth in that KK. Hopefully the rest of the US realizes how much CA contributes to the country. Fresh produce is just the tip of the iceberg.
