How many SoCal guys do you think would fail a pee test if they had them? My guess is it would be a heck of a lot...sad.
USADA only got lucky on that one because the guy ended up doing a race where he had to pee in a cup. If he was smart he would've just stayed in the US...which is also sad.
Not to be argumentative, but I don't think very many socal riders are doped. Of course there are a few that are generally suspected, and I think some of those are probably correct. But out of a few thousand licensed racers, I bet you could count the number who dope with your fingers and toes (at most). Not to minimize the issue, but I don't think it's rampant at all.
If I were king, I'd insist that USADA be at all NRC races, and then as long as they're there for the P/1 & Women's race, they should go ahead and do some testing in other categories/classes. I think it's a few hundred dollars for a pee test, probably covering EPO and steroids. Pay for it with higher license fees and entry fees.
Yeah...but this guy was popped for testosterone. There are a lot of "anti-aging" docs prescribing that stuff out there (along with HGH). Even if a guy takes it just to get his levels back up to "normal" (however THAT is defined) and rationalizes it that way, it's still technically doping...and cheating.

Read that article above and then tell me that you won't increase your estimate...
That link had no effect on my estimate. Mostly because it didn't work. Have a better link or article text?
Hmmm...works for me. Try this one instead:

Yes, I have no doubt that somebody inclined to dope can do it. So maybe that accounts for the 20 or so that I guestimated.
Add Berhard Kohl to the list of losers...

Druber
Oh man Druber! They're dropping like flies. So much for the delusion that this year was a lot cleaner.
