No More Potholes??

Ed reports new paving over much of East Camino Cielo. If I can haul my sorry fat butt up that high in a 39x25, I will check it out and report back.

Cool...the winter "sweet spot" rides up OSM and Painted Cave and up to the repeater station will be SOOO much more enjoyable!

Now, if only they would repave the upper part of Gibraltar...

BTW, how do you think my sorry ass feels going up that way in a 39x25? Quit yer' whining ;-)

Chester, Ed, and I are going to check it out with an OSM/PC/E.C./Gib run on Saturday morning feel like coming along? Probably meet at the base of OSM at 8:30.

Brilliant. That took long enough.

I might have to ride on up and have a look.

Might.

Hey, you locked the last post so I couldn't tell all those people claiming I think the way I do because of religion, that I'm an... atheist! *Gasp*!

Anony, I disabled the comments on that prior post because I think feelings were getting hurt and comments were getting too personal. I'm sure everybody on all sides has more to say, but maybe it should wait for another time and another forum.

TNA, Ed says the new paving doesn't start until you're almost to the repeater, so it won't improve that ride too much. Mostly it'll make the stretch from there to La Cumbre a lot nicer. More motivation to do the complete loop!

Seth, Not sure yet about Saturday. I haven't been on the 8:00 roco ride in a long time so might opt for that. Or MTB...?

Jen, See you up there some day! (Probably only when the ocean is flat, right?)

LOL, pretty much, um, yes ;-)

Great weather for bike riding right now, though.

Did you see the Cody O'Reilly transfer news? (scroll a little)

Guys, How about ROCO ride to second climb, back to SB then easy cruise up Gib and over to PC/OSM to check out the new paving? I don't want to go down Gib right now.

I finally dragged my ass up there yesterday and the new pavement is nice. It starts just east of the peak and extends to just before Knapp's Castle, where there are unfortunately still some massive potholes. I guess they are supposed to finish all the way to painted cave by the end of the year? Of course I chose the windiest day to go up there and was too occupied trying to keep my skinny self from being blown off the mountain to fully enjoy it...
