jesse/andy- no comment on your chest hair, or lack thereof... but, another VP race in the middle of nowhere, versus three crits an hour away in a cool downtown venue... a no brainer. But I will try Copperopolis.
gianni- our wed-night races started in the 70's (so I'm told) and went every year until about 1997 when there were a couple of bad crashes and the traffic got a lot worse. At the peak, we'd have 50-75 people out there, with Malcolm Elliot and Kurt Stockton and one end of the speed spectrum, and recreational riders at the other.
They just got resurrected last year, and it seems like they are becoming popular again.

My clubs' version is just starting out/ trying to get it off the ground, a good week would see 4 guys out there...
